Our History
In 1960, by the direction and the moving of the Holy Spirit, Reverend Lee Larkins Sr., along with his family, were called to the Pastorship of the Bible Way Church of God in Christ in Stockton, California with a membership of ten.
Our Purpose
Our goal is that this becomes a ministry that restores hope to a dying community and also a ministry that holds integrity to the highest standard within the leadership. The overarching goal is to win souls for Christ as we continue to build God’s kingdom. Our vision is to create a culture of diversity where people of all colors can develop, grow, and worship God in the beauty of holiness. It is our endeavor to be a cutting edge ministry that exemplifies effective and efficient operations in worship, teaching, outreach, music, programs and our community. Our ultimate goal is to help develop Christians that are mentally, emotionally and physically healthy; as well as demonstrate the heart and character of God.
Our Mission
Unify a diverse church which embodies compassion and joy while leaving a generational legacy of spirit-filled, mature and balanced Christians in our community. Maintain the reputation of a prominent ministry that has developed spiritual, mental, and emotionally sensible people.
Our Vision
Focus on the mental and emotional challenges that impact the daily lives of many individuals and equip them with tools to accept, address, and overcome these barriers. God is yearning for the church to expand its view of the world and Him, in order to minister to the needs of His people. With an awareness of the spiritual warfare upon us and realizing the trauma many people encounter, in their lives, we aim to establish our ministry as a resource center for spiritual, mental, and emotional growth. The accomplishment of this goal rests on us being a place where people can receive individual and leadership empowerment through the lens of spiritual, educational, and affirmational training resources, for Christian living in every aspect of their lives. Affirmation of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God. We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in three Persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the church of God, which is in Christ at His return. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance, faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Holy and separated life in this present world.
